Thank you for your interest in presenting!

The 2011 North Carolina Middle School Association Annual Conference will feature a series of over 150 one-hour breakout sessions on best practices, successful strategies, model lessons, and other areas of interest to middle level educators. While much of our audience is composed of teachers, there are many administrators, supervisors, professors, and other interested middle school stakeholders in attendance. NCMSA's conference is recognized as one of the nation's premier middle level education events thanks to the strength of our conference program... and to the outstanding educators who share their best practices with colleagues from across North Carolina and around the country.

If you are interested in sharing your session at the 2011 conference, please submit this application no later than September 30, 2010.

Please be informed that all presenters serve on a contributing basis with the state conference. As contributors, presenters cannot be reimbursed by the Association. All session presenters must register. When notified of proposal acceptance, the first two presenters on your team will be eligible for a discount on their conference registration IF THEY REGISTER AND PAY BY THE "EARLY-BIRD" DATE. All remaining presenters must pay full registration. Presenters are further requested not to present sessions that promote the sale of materials. Please keep a copy of this session proposal for your records (you will receive a confirmation by e-mail). You may also wish to write your abstract using your word processor and "cut & paste" it into the box below.

ROOM ARRANGEMENTS:
All rooms will be arranged theater style (rows of chairs) unless you request a classroom set. Theatre style allows more participants to attend your session, so unless your session involves hands-on, writing, or other activities that require tables, we recommend you go with a theatre arrangement. All rooms will be equipped with an LCD projector and screen. Please make your own arrangements for overhead projectors, TV/VCR's, laptops, or other technology.

PRINTED MATERIALS:
If you prepare paper handouts for your session, you will need to bring 75 copies. Unfortunately, the conference cannot be responsible for any copying fees. In lieu of extensive (and expensive) paper handouts, we suggest that you bring a one-page handout with contact information and a web address to a blog or website where your handouts can be downloaded. You may also wish to bring a set of CDs with your handouts and other information of interest. They are often less expensive than photocopies.

Thanks for submitting your session proposal!
