Serve on the Board or a Committee

Nominating someone (or yourself) for a board position is easy. Members of the board of the North Carolina Middle School Assocation serve staggered three-year terms, so each year there are different board positions up for election. To nominate someone, or to have someone nominate you, for a position on the Board of Directors, go to our nomination page. If you aren't sure what region you live in, here is a map.

Present at a Conference

With over 150 breakout sessions at the conference each year we are always looking for presenters to share their best practices and strategies with our participants. Each year we draw educators from across North Carolina, over a dozen other states, and several other countries (Canada and Japan last year!).

Please consider presenting a breakout session at the conference.

Share your Best Practices

NCMSA has several publications, and we're always looking for articles.

• Submit school information to our newsletter, the Advocate, send your article to Ran Barnes at rbinchlt@yahoo.com

• Share your research and best practices in the Middle School Journal, contact journal editor David Strahan at strahan@email.wcu.edu to discuss your article.

• Contact David Strahan if you're interested in writing a monograph. Guidelines for authors and our selection process are here
